I have a fax machine that worked fine for many months. All of the sudden, I could not send faxes anymore. It wasn’t until recently that I turned up the volume on the speaker and I could hear the touch tones being sent, but they never break the dial tone. I tested using two normal phones connected directly to the jack and they have the same issue (cannot call out using touch tones). IF I switch the phone to PULSE it will place the call. Incoming calls work fine.
