I currently have Verizon Fios service for phone, internet and TV box top sets. I would like to perform the following upgrades and am not sure about the type of cabling and values.
1-My ONT and Verizon router are located in the basement. I would like to relocate the new Verizon router to the first floor.
A-What type of cabling is required for this upgrade? (ethernet - Cat6).
2-New box top sets for two TVs. Here is where yet further confusion sets in.
B-Am I required to run a new coaxial cable from the ONT to the new boxes incorporating a splitter in the run? And out with HDMI to the TVs?
C-Or, ethernet cable from the router to box boxes?
D-Or coaxial cable from the router to the boxes?
3-Phone service, ongoing. My terminal block is within reach of the ONT. Maintain the same point of connections?
Thanks for any guidance. I tried YouTube and wiring diagrams online. I question the sources.
Happy Holidays. Upgrade37
