1% battery meter for Droid X

It was brought to my attention today that Circle Battery Widget was updated recently and the software is reported to be able to handle 1% battery read out, I installed it and have ran it all day and so far it appears to be very close to the stock battery readout, give it a try if you want at https://market.android.com/details?id=fr.depoortere.android.CircleBatteryWidget

I have grown to really love the Circle Battery Widget. I can see NO extra battery drain whatsoever.I thought that the 1% increments were not possible because of some limitations of the Moto phone. But it certainly does work. And yes, at first, I was thinking "My goodness, that battery is draining fast!" (extremely para-phrased, LOL). But yes, it is mental, the battery is lasting as long as ever, it's just watching it drain can be deceiving. However, I've gotten used to it being there.

Yes this is usually a driver/hardware communication restriction put in place by developer to optimize system, when I was on WM devices there was a number of programmers that figured out work arounds to resolve this item, it appears that the developer of this app may have found a exploit that allowed access to a reliable data source in device to retrieve this information without having it ping the battery status regularly that usually caused battery drain and I am so glad they have because I love the 1% read out.

This is more like a personal prefrence list of mine, I have a number of apps that I just cant live without and since I test a large amount of apps my list is growing fast..

This widget is just a way to have a more specific battery level read out because the stock battery meter is only 10% increments which makes you estimate battery life is useless. When your battery is at 35% the phones stock app reads it as 30% which is to off from real read out.

And as for the link, it works fine what do you mean its no good?

I noticed this also, all you have to do is click continue to website, clear cache for browser usually resolve the certificate issue.

After checking certificate its registered to *.google which usually means its a deicated corp certificate, all information appears to be correct but browser verification seems to have a issue.

how low can you go, %wise without damaging the phone?

You do not damage device when battery drains but you do not want it to get to low because it will poser itself off and sometimes some users have had issues getting it to power back up until battery is close to half way full..

Seams to my I remember reading that it will shorten the usable life of a lithium-ion battery to run it down to nothing. Don't know whether running it down to 20%, 15%, or 10% before charging has any effect on battery life or not.

Hey guys i haven't updated mine yet but after reading a few post im a gona do it to. Been a little absent these couple dayes been playing that Wii wildman got me a tennis game an it has been giving this old fart a work out. But its all good. :smileyvery-happy: An i See they've came out with a New Version off the Droid X or i guess thats the Rumor! I looked on my account profile an it says i have the old Versin i wonder whats up i know they maid a SD change from the 16GB to a 2GB Card but other than that i wonder if thats it. a head scracher for shur. :smileyindifferent:

From what I have read it appears the diffrence of new and old Droid X is the sd card change, my listing for my device doesnt say "Old Version" like some has reported, mine actually sayes 16GB Version

After installing this and while charging the phone, I noticed on the locked display screen, under the clock, it said "Fully Charged".

This is when I would usually unplug the charging cable. However, when I slid the unlock slider and went to my Homescreen, the "new" widget said "95%".

So, I left it plugged in and watched. It did continue to charge up to 100% in 1% increments.

Meaning? The phone "thinks" it's charged at 95%. And, based on the status on the locked display screen saying it was "fully charged", I was unplugging the cable, before.

I figure the extra 5% is worth......maybe an hour of charge I wasn't taking advantage of before? Interesting.

I am thinking you are speaking about my screenshot at start of thread... If so, that is my Droid X lock screen shot and that is the app called Widget Locker from the marjet that allows you to customize lock screen with many diffrent layouts. Hmm, never noticed that but mine does that 5% thing also :smileysurprised: :smileyhappy: ... I am sure this will be looked at with next update

It says this thread is resolved but I am using circle battery widget and it reads in increments if 1%

I really like this circle battery widget, however...I have found that it is not always consistent in it's own readings. I have two different apps that will give me an actual voltage readout, and both always agree. But the circle battery widget will give readings that aren't always in line with those voltage readings. In fact, at any given voltage, the circle widget will say one thing on one day, but something different on another day, even at the same actual voltage.
