10/18/11 droid 2 update

I got the new update and now it is HORRIBLE!!!!! I can't end a call unless I take my battery out, it keeps shutting off by itself, and now it wont hold a charge. This is really getting me mad. Why are we paying so much a month for Verizon service if it isn't even working???? This is ridiculous. How am I supposed to use the new update if it wont even stay on???

I can definitely understand how frustrating it can be to have software update crash your phone. I have done that on my phones before. Most of the time it is a corrupt install, the best way to resolve this is to do a master reset on the phone and it should resolve and issues with the update. Here are the instructions to do to that:

From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
User has the option of Erasing SD Card - if desired check "Erase SD Card"
Touch Reset Phone
Touch Erase Everything

If the master reset doesn’t work please PM your name and number and I will see what options we have for you. I hope this helps. Thanks.

So, is the current Gingerbread update that was rolled out a few days ago (DROID2 GLOBAL) a "corrupted install"?

I can't seem to find out too much on this... Ever since the last "Update" to Gingerbread came and upgraded us, the Google browser

DOES NOT WORK!!!!

I just got an update today and now all my FB contacts are in my phone contacts and I can't seem to figure out how to hide them again there are now over 300 people in my phone list.

I have a Droid Pro and a Droid2 Global after the gingerbread update apps on both phones have so many forced closes it is ridiculous. The Droid2 can't send text messages over about 60-70 characters before forced close. This upgrade is very unstable! Stay away until Verizon gets it right.

Is there any way to go back to the previous operating system? I had no problems other than Google navigator and maps would not work on the Droid2
