2.2 UPDATE AND TETHERING

I saw that there is a new icon, it is called TETHERING,

maybe someone would be kind enough to explain how this works?

looks like it enables you to use your phones internet connection with your comp. only on vista and w7. my old sprint phone used to do the same.
