Same here.  It flashes the Motorola logo for a second, and then back to the Bootloader... Er:A5,70,00,00,23 whatever that means.

let me guess you rooted your phone and didnt reset to to 2.1 before updating? if thats the case you just bricked your phone and voided your contract by using the software that wasnt official so you are stuck....if not there shouldnt be a bootloader screen and you need to take your phone in tomorrow

I never did anything but official OTA updates from Verizon.  I've gotten the bootloader screen randomly before, but it always went away if I just turned the phone on and off a few times.  This one isn't going anywhere.

This is actually my moms phone. Its less than a week old. Ive had my droid x since the launch date and ive had no problems at all. Im running 2.2 flawlessly right now. But my moms droid x is stuck on that boot screen asking for a usb cnnection. Ive tried everything to fix it. Im pretty sure its bricked. Ive never installed anything but official software on either phone, so that cant be the case.

shut the phone off and boot in recovery ! when the phone is off hold the power and the home button down at the same time and when you see the motorola logo let go of just the power button! when it is in recovery! so a factory reset! this should take off bootloader screen! :smileytongue:

For people's reference, I am stuck on the bootloaded and (unsuccessfully) tried the following process...

1. Hold Home Button and press power

2. Screen will show a Android with a triangle with astrick

3. Let Go of Home Button and Power

4. Press Search Button (Far Left Button)

5. A blue menu will show at top of page, scroll to Format Device

6. Select Yes to verify

7. Allow format to complete (Information at bottom of page will go through a few steps)

8. Once Format is complete Blue Menu will show at top again, select Reboot

9. Sometimes phone hangs after rebot and will take a while but if no responce after 5 - 10 minutes, pull the battery and reinsert.  (Device usually starts fine after this)

I am still stuck on the Bootloader screen...

Ugh.

Try doing a hard reset on your device. Be sure when performing a hard reset that you backup your infomation and remove your sd card before the phone has been reset. The steps are listed below:

1. Turn the phone off.

2. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for about 5 seconds.

3. A screen with an exclamation will appear. Tap the Search key.

4. Scroll down to factory reset using the Volume Down button.

5. Confirm the selection.

6. Select Yes — delete all user data then tap OK.

The Droid X will then complete the hard reset.

I get a triangle with an exlamation point inside after holding down the power and home buttons.  I tried pushing the search key and nothing happens.

Two things:

1) DON'T do the DROID X update. It will brick your phone and Verizon will not help at all. (tech support & in store)  The reps kept telling me "sorry for the inconvenience" but you can upgrade your phone.   My point is simple: prior to update my phone worked; after the update it is a brick.  They still offered no support and told me to call Motorola.

2) Big Red has been choking the 3G speeds to push people to LTE.  Our IT department has been monitoring the download speeds and they have been decreasing.

Good Job Verizon. Great tricks to phase out old phones and force people to upgrade.
