.WAV voicemail attachments created by Cisco Unity no longer play on the Droid, post updating to 2.2. yesterday morning.
I click "Open" attachment, the application appears to fetch the attachment, then returns this message "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".
I contacted technical support - level1 had me try the *228, level 2 had me wipe my handheld, all to no good effect. As a temporary work-around, I paid $2.98 for Remote Wave.
What a bummer! Anyone else having this issue?

My understanding is that Android does not support .wav. I too have installed Remote Wave as .wav files have never played on my phone. I wonder how they did play on yours in the first place? I download books to my phone which are mostly .wav files but I have to limit them to the mp3 format. Remote Wave has too primitive an interface to play a complex and long book, but it works well for .wav voicemails and such.

who cares if wav files were "supported" in the past. The point is that the files played fine pre 2.2 update. Now an unsupported file format message is displayed post update. This is a really annoying regression. It seems that the droid 2 can play these files fine and it has android 2.2 This should work on the original droid with 2.2. We use shoretel for our phone system. the wav codec is ulaw at 64kbps 8bit 8kHz. Having to buy a weak $3 app to play files that used to work is ridiculous.
