I typically just type something like, for instance, "alarms" in the search box and a lot of apps related to that search will presented. Each app will show itself to either be a free or paid app.

There are free and paid sections of the market.
also if you find an app via a search of the market, the button will say 'Install' for free, or a price for paid. If you miss the cost portion, there is another verification screen that you have to press through to pay for an app.

Anything in the android market isent billed to ur bill if it costs anything.
Actually, if you purchase a paid app, you can have it charged to a credit card. I don't think you can have it charged to your Verizon bill.

hi all!
i sooo appreciate the replies. its very good 2 kno there's ample support 4 my phone.
i need 2 clarify a bit though on my question ......
i c the titles 'free' & 'paid' on the top of the market page. i wanted 2 know if after i buy the app, how do i know if it goes to my monthly bill or not???
for example, the 'mobile hotspot' is an app that gets a $20 charge to my credit card according to the verizon wireless person i talked to. i asked her if i get charged for the navigation app - she said no. when asked 4 a list of what gets on my monthly bill or not, she couldn't find anything. hence my post here.
thanks 4 the help!!

Google maps is free
Vz naz is on ur bill if u accept to have it.
Anything preloaded will tell u if it is monthly charge if u accept like visual voicemail.
