If I'm using the 3G Network and not connected to WiFi and it displays 3G at the top of my phone, am I using data even though I'm not using an app at that time? Just trying to monitor my 150mb data plan!
You could be using data if for example you have email come in, or the weather widget updates, or an app is set to automatically update.
