I went into the store and the rep told me that it is the New Every Two. **bleep**.
I got the phone ordered last night, but let me tell you my scenario. 3rd phone is upgradable in October, so they used a 3G phone upgrade promotion, which got me the phone for $199 because of the online discount too. My 2nd line is also eligible and it is upgradable in 06/11. ask for the 3G phone upgrade promotion. she had to put it thru several times before it ook, but thats probably because the phone literally became available as we were speaking.
So you were eligible?
Yess! I had to call in, and the lady said that it doesn't show up because it is a special promotion.
I'm glad to read you all have placed your orders for the new Motorola Droid X! I hope ya'll enjoy your new device! The DROIDX is built for a fantastic video watching experience. It's a pocket-sized Home Theater with a 4.3" vibrant display, High Definition 720p camcorder and the ability to view pictures and non-DRM protected video directly on your HD TV at home via HDMI. Combine that with Skype®, High-speed mobile browsing, Personal Mobile 3G Hotspot, and a 1GHz processor and this DROIDX is extreme! To clarify, Effective 06/23/2010 to 08/31/2010, Verizon Wireless is inviting all customers with contracts expiring this year to upgrade to any 3G Smartphone at two-year pricing. Since this is a special promotion, unfortunately it is not available online. The promotion is available through All Direct Retail locations, Customer Service, and our sales department.
HTH,
Yes, I am all happy about getting my phone ordered, but I was a bit disappointed when it came time to order online that the overnight shipping was $8.99 instead of free like it said on the homepage for Verizon. Then I check out some forums and find out that some people get it free while others, like me, do not. I live in South Dakota. I hate FedEx for this single reason, they never deliver on time. My free shipping said 2-day, but the FedEx tracking says it will be here on July 19th...of this I have no doubt.
I am thinking that Verizon allowed free overnight shipping for certain geographical regions. "Boy, those people that live in the sticks are used to waiting." I could have used this phone for my trip, but now I won't even get it delivered because FedEx will not deliver without someone there...Thanks Verizon.

Nope, you had to put the code: freeovernt in when you did your online order.

If you clicked the Learn More button about overnight shipping, you would see there was a promocode you needed to enter to get the next day shipping.
Only the first delivery does someone need to be there. They leave a card, sign it requesting the package be left, leave it on the door and it will be left.

HTH ,
I actually wasn't able to upgrade. I had one agent at first who got very far, but then came back and told me that I was actually not eligible. So I called again, and got an agent who told me that we were eligible, but only the primary line is eligible. Is this true?
