I am on my 4th bionic.  I have terrible connectivity issues and call quality issues.  I cannot sync with facebook or twitter all the time.  I cannot get on google talk consistently.  My wife is on her second because the first one just shut off one morning and would not come back on.  She is still having issues with connectivity as well.  I am at my whit's end.  I am thinking about leaving Verizon.  They will not help and just want to keep sending me crap phones.  I wish someone from customer service would read this and please help us.  If not, we are going to have to leave.

Now first thing I would like to say I say all this in total respect and please do not misread my intensions...

I understand your views somewhat but I think this can only be expressed one way....   Motorola makes the device and Verizon sell it and besides the Bionic had issues reported before it was released and this was why the release date was always set back, if Verizon is sending you replacements and they are all having similar issues you may want to check your software before you blame the device because 9 times out of 10 a repeating issue on different devices indicate a conflicting software app or some other common factor.

Also I wonder what difference would leaving a working network because of a malfunctioning device is going to do?  There is a set return policy for devices with issues and after that you are locked into the Certified Replacement area if they are replacing the device when issues are reported the company is attempting to resolve the issue..

I hope you get you situation resolved but I really think you are looking at the wrong possible nature of your issues...

I am just so tired of hearing the same stuff from Verizon.  i am in the service industry as well and when a patient/client is unhappy I bend over backwards to help that patient/cliet out.  I guess that is because I do not have 40 million clients and if verizon squashes a few along the way they will still make money.  Where as if I squash a few my business will be trashed.  I am disappointed with Verizon.  I just talked to a supervisor and she admitted they knew there were software problems and yet the phone was pushed anyway.  I guess I will take my 5 lines somewhere else.  I know Sprint and/or At&t will make sure that peoples phones work well before they are allowed to sell them  I really do like the Verizon network but what can I do this is not about having the coolest phone this is about a fully functional phone.

That doesnt sound quite logical. I have not one iota of faith in anything with AT&T's, Sprint's, or TMobile's hand in it. There are fully functional phones on Verizon's network. It wasn't the Bionic for me. But I don't want to sound like an Apple fanboy, either.

This isn't about defending the Bionic. I agree with Wildman. And I just did what I had to do to get a "fully functional" phone on the network that serves me the best.

(Oh, yeah, I have 5 lines, too. So what?)

You may want to research a bit more about this because Sprint has been releasing a number of new devices lately that wont even stay connected to network, besides that I never could get any signal with them anyway..

I experianced nothing but dropped calls with Sprint and when I tried T-Mobile it was even worse and when I told their CS the woman just said "Well you can cancel your contract and go to another carrier" and this is how I got to Verizon and I really never looked back...

I am not tring to change your mind because it is whatever works for you but I really dont think you will run into any better situations with other carriers..

I'm not trying to talk you out of leaving VZW, but do want to encourage you to look at this logically.  While I have had a good experience with AT&T, I can assure you that all of the phones that they sell do not "work well".  Statistically, that is impossible.  Both AT&T and VZW have around 100 million customers each.  Sprint has around 53 million customers.  Assuming that over 90% of the customers have carrier provided phones, thats still millions of phones that they sell.  There will be some defective phones sold, no matter which carrier is selling it.

Are some carriers better than others in providing the customers with working replacement handsets?  Maybe, or maybe not.  I think that it varies based on user experience and perception.  I guarantee that if you check each of the carriers' forums, you will see threads similar to yours.

This all leads to you have to do what's best for you.  Is it staying with VZW and switching handsets?  Is it staying with VZW and contacting Motorola yourself for replacements?  Is it going to another carrier and avoiding Motorola handsets?  That's up to you.  I wish you well in whichever path you choose.

Im right there with you on the frustration level...the Bionic was an absolute joke and was very dissapointed with the turn around time, or lack of it rather on a resolution...but I would never leave Verizon, especially with the unlimited data that can only be obtained on Sprint which, from what I read, is the least reliable of all networks in my area(s)

I was told by two friends who are also Verizon employees (one in customer service call center and another at a corporate location) that going to a 4G device is pointless for the time being due to the 4G network being fairly new and obviously not fully functional ...normally that falls on deaf ears but it coming from Verizon employees holds a little more value. There are tons of great 3G devices for Verizon, try and sell the 4G device(s) and invest in the later 3G models...I got rid of my Bionic and bought an Incredible 2 and am just thrilled I have a device that can provide data connectivity when called upon. 4G devices have potential, but they simply are not ready.

Good luck either way, but hope you stick with Verizon...despite their issues with 4G devices/network currently, it can only get better...it has to lol

I am tired of talking with Verizon about my Bionic

They have no ability to fix the software problems and chalk it up to your the only one with this problem.

I am on my third bionic and everyone had the same issues.

Their solution was to send me out another one I refuse to accept anymore refurbished pieces of garbage.

I am paying my ETF and walking away from Verizon if they can't  fix this PR snafu with the Bionic.

While on hold last night I kept hearing the ad for the bionic Blah

So we should stay with Verizon because Sprint is just as bad.  I can't say that is sound reasoning.  I have 5 phones, two are these Bionic's that you Verizon fans can't seem to understand are having lots of issues.  I don't mean any disrespect, but please understand they sent these out knowing there were problems.  It was supposed to rule all machines and they couldn't wait to get a replacement out there.
