I still have not received my update. Hopefully it happens in the next few days because I'm getting really tired of this Verizon.

Chicago still no update!

How does the notification come through, because I am tired of constantly checking my phone to see if the update is available.

As i said in another post......When you get the update, a notification will come on your phone that says a new software update is available. You can choose to "update now" or "update later".  Remember patience!!!!

I'm new here but have been reading different forums about this 2.2 update and how alot of people hadn't recieved it yet. I was constantly going into my settings in the phone and manually checking for updates but it always said it was up to date. I had seen in one discussion about someone saying to uninstall the task killer if it was installed on the phone. so what i did was uninstalled my task killer, i turned off my wifi and turned the phone off and then back on. I believe i did this around 11 pm central time on aug. 18. Around 11:45, I was about to go to sleep and i checked the system update manually again and it said there was an update available and it had a status bar that showed it was almost half way done downloading. i'm not sure if what i done had helped it in any way, but maybe it can help someone else. its worth a shot. but i never got a notification saying there was an update available, i just kept checking myself. anyways, i hope this may help someone who hasn't recieved it yet.

I have spoken to the same manager 3 different times his week and he keeps coming up with excuses. I am now on my 5th Droid replacement device and I am still getting the run around about it being the software. If I wanted crappy customer service. I would have gone to AT&T.
