ADDING EMAIL ACCOUNTS

GMail was added to my phone, and I am getting my AOL MAIL thru this account. I do not understand why this is happening, but I have no real problem with that. My question is what would happen if I added my AOL account to the phone?

Will this conflict with the GMail account? And how does one exactly add an email account?

Do you have your gmail account online set to pull your aol emails under Settings- Account & Import or have aol set to forward to gmail? That's the only way they'd be coming in through google.

There's actually another way that can happen. That is if you have your AOL account forward mail to your Gmail account.

Whoops, missed that part. Anyway, I have two active email accounts. One is with Charter and one is with Gmail. I have both sending automatic downloads to my Droid. I also have both sending email to my laptop. In addition, I have Charter forwarding a copy to Gmail just to make sure my Droid receives all of my mail. It seems Gmail is more reliable in getting mail to my Droid than Charter is.

You can attempt to resolve the email issue by removing the email accounts you currently have and then re-adding. You are able to add an email account to your device through the following steps:

Add Email Account
From the home screen, touch the applications tab.
Touch Email.

First email account added
Enter the exchange email address and password then touch Next.
Touch Exchange account.
Enter the exchange server settings in the appropriate fields:
Domain\username
Password
Exchange Server
If desired, ensure Use secure connection (SSL) and Accept all SSL certificates are checked then click Next.
Touch the Email Checking frequency dropdown.
Touch the desired frequency.
Touch the Amount to synchronize dropdown.
Touch the desired amount.
Touch the desired account options then touch Next.
The account option is enabled if a green check mark is present.
Send email from this account by default.
Notify me when email arrives.
Sync contacts from this account.
Enter an account name and outgoing message name then touch Done.
Additional Email account added
Touch Menu.
Touch Accounts.
Touch Menu.
Touch Add account.
Enter the exchange email address and password then touch Next.
Touch Exchange account.
Enter the exchange server settings in the appropriate fields.
