I have tried several times to add my Cox email, but it always fails. I know I have the correct name and password and I have the POP3 and SMTP server names. However, whenever I press next, it says it's connecting and fails. Got any suggestions. I have set the security to SSL & none, I have shortened my id dropping the @cox.net, nothing seems to be working.

Through trial and error I have set up my family's Cox accounts on 2 Charge phones. First, you will enter the @cox.net suffix, but you eventually will take it out later (read all the instructions below). But on the first go around, enter it all including the @cox.net.
In your case I would delete what you have and start over and add a new account. Enter your username with the @cox.net, suffix (yes, enter it with that portion) Then enter your password, then select "Manual" configuration. For some reason mine was prefilled with pop,east.cox.net on the pop server, so I just changed east to west. The same for SMTP, It should read smtp.west.cox.net (if you are in a Cox west state. I left all the ports in that popped up. Seems like one of them was 9xx something and the other was 4xx something. I didn't change anything in the ports and whatever defaults were checked I left alone. Now, when you get to the end you will get an error message about it not being set up correctly.
I think what happens is when you entered @cox.net on the first line the defaults for Cox get loaded in the remaining screens. When you get the error about incorrect setup, go back to the top and remove the @cox.net portion and try again and it will work.
Again, I have 2 phones with 2 different addresses working perfectly this way.
