Alert notifications when calendar is synced with Outlook

I sync the DInc calendar with Outlook. The calendar shows up on the phone as "PC Sync." Here's the problem. If global alerts and notifications are turned on, I get an alert for EVERY calendar event, regardless if the specific event is set to have an alert or not. On the phone, the little bell symbol only shows up on the events with an alert. No matter, the phone will alert on everything. Anybody know how to fix this?

I hear the 2.2 update is supposed to fix outlook problems syncing. I can't say that for fact.

Try this: Go to -Calendar -Menu -Setting - Reminder Setting - Set alerts & notifications - OFF

I could not find global alerts and notifications to turn on so my test is strictly on the above. I tested just now and It worked, I did not get a notification.

The problem with that is that you won't get ANY notifications, even on the events where you want an alarm. That's a HUGE problem for this forgetful guy. I'm hoping that this problem gets some attention at HTC. The only thing that seems to make a difference (emphasis on "seems") is where the event is originated. If you originate on the phone and then sync to Outlook, the alerts seem to behave properly. If you originate in Outlook, all events will alarm whether or not they have an alarm set.
