Thanks for the reply. As a software tester understand the answer. Was just testing the real waters to see if it was in the wild yet.

If you look around there is a leaked version of 2.2 on the interwebs, but I'm not sure I would recommend it. Motorola has stated there will be no upgrade path from the leaked version to the official version.

The droid X forum on Mot's page is suggesting a major problem with 2.2 on the X and a delay until November??

Do you have a specific link to that (re: November) ?? I am a member of that Forum and do not see what you're talking about. There was a quote (posted here or on the Moto forum) from a Senior Moto rep. in PC MAG saying that the release is due out very very soon -- like within the week.

Well I have to agree with the post later in that thread about it being " unsubstantiated claims" ... I guess we'll just have to see.

Well I hope it comes out sooner then later since the Incredible got the 2.2 update this morning.
Now the X is the only one left waiting.......

i too am awaiting on the 2.2 update like so many x owners out there. alot of people have stated that the original droids and inc owners have so why don`t we? or why didnt verizon`s flagship phone have it first? i spoke with a verizon rep and he stated to me that it was a fair option to update the phones in the order they were released to the public. original moto droid came out i think 9 to 11 months ago and the inc was available in june and the x was released in july. Makes sense to me why they got it first. I also consider my self lucky in that any update bugs were mostly discovered and the fixes will hopefully be included in our update.

Ok I looked at that Article from Motorola and was very concerned and i almost called Moto to see what the heck is going on. I spoke with a rep a few times before and assured me that the froyo update for the droid X will be release really really soon. I noticed on that article you posted up was dated early August, this issue that they talked about with the droid X is probably the exchanged email that caused them to delay the OTA in late August. this is almost fully been resolved if they are going to be releasing froyo in a few weeks. so fear not Droid X users i am positive it will come out this month,....exact date i dont have but at least it won't be October or November.

It's the 19th of Sept, and I still haven't gotten mine.
Also, on another forum, I read that DROID X users were supposed to get freebies for buying DROID X such as a T-shirt, sticker, etc... Did you get those or is this just a hoax?

Got mine about 2 weeks after I activated my X. I tossed the sticker and dumped the tshirt in my "rags" bin. But it was kind of nice to receive it.

I got nothing from Verizon for purchasing my X....
and I really do not care if I get a free tshirt from Verizon. It will be too small for me anyways.
