Anyone else has this problem after a 20 min+ conversation

During a long conversation (usually over 20+ min) it has happened that my phone makes this very loud static noise for a second or two, then I can not hear the other person anymore. I hang up and try to call back and I don't hear anything. The phone works fine but I can not hear anyone on the other side eventhough the time is still going when I/they pick up.

I am forced to restart my phone and always and then phone works fine again.
When this happens I am always told by the other side that they could hear nothing noise the whole time.

Is this a problem that I'm only having? Anybody else here?

I am debating to get my phone in as I do not want to get a refurbished one.

NoLeafClover,

Keep your phone!!!  Hang in at least for another week or two.  None of us really know but my gut feeling is that we are close to getting a software update for the Charge phone.  Don't jump ship yet and especially, as you already said, don't turn your phone in for someone else's already broken but so called refurbished phone.

Just "Cool-It" for the time being.

Mine does the same thing.  I bought a new battery thinking that could be the issue.  The popping actually hurts my ear, I don't know about you.

Yes, it is very loud and it catches you off guard..It sounds like the old TV's with a bad signal

I think it's more than just the battery, it has happened to me when i had the phone plugged in.

Question....how often do you guys reboot your phones? I've never had that issue on mine but my wife had had it happen 3 times now on hers, but I reboot my phone every other day or so sometimes more. She only reboots hers maybe 2 times in a week or less sometimes. This could be some of the reason if the phones up time starts getting into the 5+ days of up time without a reboot.

I have rebooted my phone, called the person back and it did it again after 15 minutes.
The only thing I can think of is that it's either when the phone gets hot or maybe something in the root system.

I use this app called fast reboot which just resets all the phone features/apps without actually restarting the phone but i haven't tried it yet when this issue happens.

I don't go without a hard restart for more than two days - it has become a norm
Restarting using the app i mentioned probably 2-3 times a day since it only takes about 5-10 seconds

NoLeafClover, I understand your frustrations and the frustrations of the community members who are having the same issues. This particular problem would upset me as well because we all want to use our phones for a long length of time without wondering if the phone will loose sound during the call.  This would concern me as well if I was using this device. I show this issue has been reported by other customers and is being reviewed by our technicians and product team for a resolution. We plan to address this problem with our next software update for this phone.

If you continue to have this issue after the software update, we will need to perform further trouble-shooting and review your phone and account for replacement options. Listed is a link to the page that contains info about the last software update.
