App updates showing in market

I've been getting notified of my apps having updates available and when I go to the app, I just get an "Open" and "Uninstall" button.  Well, in addition to all the info and pix regarding the app.  But there is no "Update" button. When I check my app, I show that I have the latest version of the app installed.    It's not a huge deal and doesn't appear to be causing any problems.   Has anyone else been getting this?

I have hit the "Update #" button at the top of my installed app list, and it goes through the procedure of downloading and installing an update and then the notification goes away from my app list, but a few days later the app shows up as needing an update again.

Just wonderin' if I'm the only one......

I'm getting this as well, and it's actually driving me crazy. I don't know why, but I can't stand that notification of new app updates.

Maybe we should both go get a Bionic tomorrow? Then again, maybe we should wait and see.....

I'll let you know if I figure anything out regarding the app notification issue....

Its a quirk in the market system, not the phone. I have had that too, but after a couple of hours, then an update shows up for the app. One app didn't show the update button until the next day.

I am doubting the Bionic will release tomorrow. I am surprised that there has been no emails or anything, other than one TV ad that I saw this past weekend (other than the normal rumor mill reposts on the web)

Verizon is really being stupid about this release. Why have they not officially anounced the release with less than 24 hours to launch date? If they are trying to be like Apple, at least Apple shows off their iPhone a month or two ahead of the launch date.

There has been waning interest in the phone. If they would have released it last month, then I would already have bought it. But now, I doubt I will order one tomorrow. If the price point is $299 (which was rumored, not officially announced) then I will not get one unless it comes with both car and desktop docks, or at least the car dock. Otherwise, I just might wait for a while.

Hello vereyzuhn,

I understand you frustrations I quickly clear the update notifications as well. Drives me crazy when my wife has 15 apps that she hasn't updated! Have you attempted clearing the cache or data of the Market? Menu> Settings> Applications>Manage Applications> All > Market> Clear Cache and Clear Data. This will not remove any apps but it will ask you to accept the Market Terms & Conditions. Please let me know if I can troubleshoot further to help find a resolution.

The "new" market does seem to have glitches. I have noticed exactly the same thing. I check back and eventually it lets me update. Kind of ironic.......the "android" market being glitchy......maybe it's an app conflict.

Astro File Manager wanted to update several times after the initial update. I force-closed the market app and cleared its data and the issue stopped.

And my name is on a Bionic at my local Verizon store to be picked up tomorrow morning (the 8th). So we'll see what happens.
