Apps mass failure

App after app will not load. As soon as I select them, I get a fail prompt, and a force close. It's been going on all day. Basically nothing works. I have rebooted multiple times, no help.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like you may have corrupted the OS somehow if you have a large amount of apps not functuioning, My suggestion to simplify things is backup and haed reset the device and restore apps and information because it could be time consuming to trouble shoot a large amount of app issues..

Try checking and removing the recent apps that you installed to see if a app has modified the device to cause the issue.

To remove Apps go to settings / Applications / Manage Applications and go down list and remove whatever Apps you installed recently...

Backup and restore require a apparently like MyBackup from Market and after backing you power device down, press and hold volume down while you press power until you see white bootloader screen and the. select Factory Reset... This will wipe device and restore it to out of box state and then you have to set the device back up.. http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=30946

Can't load the market to backup... Another thing I noticed is that when I look at what is running, some apps are, and it says they were all started by "touch to stop". Never noticed that before. No new apps, but about 20 updated in the last few days. Not real sure which...

I'd suggest doing a FR as wildman suggested: But first >>>>> I've got an Incredible an may i ask did you go to your settings > then Applications > then Manage Applications Then Downloaded or All then Market Once there >>> Clear Cache then Data & Force Stop Once done there Hit the Home button then Do a Soft Reset. Meaning Pull cover then battery while the phone is on. an once the battery is out hold the power on button for at least 20 Sec. then re-install power up reload Market an see if works an if this does'nt fixit i'd say a factory reset is your next step. I did do a factory reset, and the phone is up and running. I was able to move my contacts to the SD card, reset, then move them back. Except for apps, I didn't lose much.

Thanks for the help.
