Which email APP are you using? It almost sounds like you have an incorrect SMTP port setting. Which email serice are you using? Has this ever worked or is this your 1st attempt?

Using the email that came on phone. Accounts then set up. I know the info is correct have read it to IT people and agree it is right. they suggest it is on verizons end. but i don't think so.

no email account was setup on the phone unless it was issued by your company.
gmail is required but no server address ports to enter.
my gmail account was setup before i took delivery of the phone but could have been done when phone was activated.
i added cox pop3 email and had to manually enter both pop3 and smtp servers with both boxes checked on both servers.
i doubt if it's a verizon issue.

Is this a corporate email account or a personal ISP? If its corporate it is the IT settings that usually causes the issue, also a number of users use Touvhdown email client for corporate accounts without issues.
