Tried sending video from my mothers phone to my Droid X and it says "Failure reason: This transfer is forbidden by the target device" What do I do? She has the HTC Incredible!
Send it by MMS, much easier.
Did you accept the transfeer on the Destination device.
Spent two hours trying to Blue tooth Dx to Dx before I discovered that.
How large is the file? Large files are best transferred by pc..
Thanks for the information everyone. File size will play a part in what can be sent and received by mobile phone. The maximum file size for picture / video messages varies from device to device. The file size limitation is based on the megapixels of the camera on the device:
The maximum file size that can be sent from an email to a device is 3 MB. When any message over 350 KB is sent to the device, the file is reduced in size to be under 350 KB prior to delivery. If a device sends a 500 KB file to a device with a lower file size limit the file will be reduced to a file size acceptable by the receiving device.
Maybe I am missing something but I am under the impression by the header that they want to send file by bluetooth not by email...
The problem is not with the phone. The trick is to tell your computer to expect the files before you send them. To do this you have to right click on the Bluetooth icon which should be in the notification area of your task bar next to the clock, and choose "Receive a File".
If you do not have a Bluetooth icon in the notification area open your control panel, search for "bluetooth" then select "Change Bluetooth settings". In the window that pops up there is an option to "Display the Bluetooth icon in the notification area".
After you have told Windows to "Receive a File", you can send the files from your phone and Windows will display a progress bar as it receives them.
This is for Windows 7. Not sure if Vista or XP are different.
My take on the OP's post was that he wanted to send, via bluetooth, a file from his mothers phone to his phone.
+1 My thoughts ring up the same. B33
