Back-up Assistant: doesn't back up all phone numbers

I just used Back-up Assistant and synced the phone. When I went to my account at Verizon, it had only backed up one phone number in my Contacts list. How do I get Back-up to back up all the contact information? And why does it only back up the one I entered last week and nothing earlier than that?
Thanks.

BA will only backup contacts saved as phone contacts.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

What do you mean were they "saved as Google contacts?" When I bought the phone, the Verizon employee set up the phone. Did he set it up incorrectly? How can I save these contacts to the phone?

Having the contacts saved as Google contacts is a good way to go too. They are linked to your Google account and can be easily retrieved should you get a different android device.

Pearson100, thank you for your inquiry and thanks Ann for your assistance!
Pearson, the easiest way to tell if your contacts are backed up using Backup Assistant or Google is by going to your contacts, press the Menu button, View. Under options you will see the total number of contacts for each category. It sounds like your contacts are backed up thru Google. The phone normally will only sync the contacts in one category unless you already had contacts in both. If they are showing in Google, just login to your Gmail account and click on contacts to view your contacts from there. It doesn't matter which program you decide to use to backup your contacts. Most new phones also use Google to sync contacts and this will carry over to other devices.
