I'm using the GPS/mapping on my droid and the car charger can not keep up with the drain on the phone. Are there any other options for charging, or other chargers available?
I know the standard life of my battery is around 6 - 8 hrs per day, but the map feature with routing is way over the charging capacity of the verizon car charger.
I did get the Froyo update on Saturday night, which makes the device faster and adds more features, but hasn't seemed to change the battery drain on the droid.
Thanks!
Jerry

Have you downloaded the Auto Kill from the market? If not, do so, then goto the settings and set it to autokill. I set mine to every hour. You can set it to ignore programs you dont want it to kill like email and such

The phone is probably overheating. Get a vent mount instead of using a dash/window mount. I have one of those generic $5 mounts from walmart and haven't had any issues with battery drain or overheating while using nav since.
