Battery Life

The battery for 2.2 is ridiculously dreadful, I feel embarrassed sometimes having to plug my phone in class or in a lobby. Or having to carry a car charger with me at all times to plug my phone in. The battery life dies so quick it's annoying, and all this time my friends last all day on their devices without having to charge up once.I don't want to have to switch to iphone because I really like my incredible but it's going that way .... When is Verizon going to fix this problem ?

They won't because they can't. Verizon doesn't make the phones. You will need an extended battery or you will never be happy with it. J can barely get through a day, but that's with only 2 hours of actual use....the rest of the time is just standby time. If you use it a lot for music and such, its going to be tough. IPhone has much better batteries than the droids. But droids have full flash support (which also drains batteries).

You may find battery life questions addressed in other posts, but here is my summary to get the battery to last long.

1.) Place the HTC Settings widgets on the screen (Profile, GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi, Mobile Network) to easily turn on and off.

2.) Keep Mobile Network off unless you need to be getting synced all the time. You can still receive texts and calls, which is primarily what you need from a phone (not Twitter updates).

3.) Keep the brightness as low as possible for you, not auto.

4.) Keep animations off or at some.

5.) Get the 1750 battery for about 50 bucks. Don't need to replace the back cover either.

6.) I have Advanced Task Killer (which is still debatable by many) set to crazy/aggressive and killing apps everytime the screen goes off.

With all that, I get 1.5 days on my full charge. I don't even have the bigger battery yet.

The phone is ahead of its time even though there are flaws. But then, I haven't seen a perfect product ever minus maybe the original Nintendo or even SNES. Or just jump boat and go for the iPhone. It has it's own problems for some users including a dead batteries sometimes.
