Lot of variables here.. how long DOES it last? What do you have running on the phone? GPS? WiFi? Playing lots of Videos? A Daily charge seems pretty normal with smartphones. At least that's MY own experience. I charge mine every morning. I have friends with the iPhone that basically leave it in the charger whenever it is not in use.

Smartphones do indeed drink juice! It depends on what you are doing with your phone, and what services you have turned on and running. Tell us how many hours of charge you are getting out of the phone. It is normal to charge a smartphone every day. If you are using it as a media/game device it's best you plug it in during those times.

There is an App "Advanced Task Killer" that will improve battery life if background apps is the problem. If you use the Alarms function be sure to allow that operation under the Apps killer.
There is also a larger battery and new back available from Motorola that will add life to the phone. It does not make the phone appreciably thicker, imho.

Having same issue. Had phone for two weeks had to buy larger battery. Today, I talked on the phone for a total of an hour and a half, nothing else (no GPS, WiFi, Facebook, nothing), and heavy duty battery only lasted seven hours!!! My BlackBerry lasted for days without charging. I realize there are more functions with this phone, but it should have better battery. Installed Advanced Task Killer (which also uses battery), but everytime I check it, 15+ things are running without me initiating them. Verizon rep said this wasn't normal and swaped it for another phone and another new battery today. I don't think it will change though. Wish I had an answer, but I think it's an issue that needs to be resolved by Motorola. Just a thought......Backup Assistant is installed twice on a lot of DroidX phones. Rep told me they would be issuing a "patch" soon. Don't know if that's having any effect on battery life?

The task killer needs to be setup after install to work better. Click menu then settings. Look there to setup how you want. You may need to play with it. I have mine set to aggressive and every 30 minutes. Also art apps like alarm clock and such that you don't want killed to ignore. Many people never notice the swings in that app.
I typically get from 7am to 11 pm with 20% left when I plug it in to charge till next morning. I have some odd the bloat ware apps removed however you must have a specific setup on your phone to remove them
