Battery dying and basically no service

My battery has died within 3 hours and I'm getting basically no service.  I just switched from the Droid X and I thought this would be a better phone.

Service problems are widespread on this phone.  I've not read or heard of any solution.

Are you in an area where you normally get a good signal? Are there other Verizon Wireless phones in your location getting a signal and you are not?  If you are not getting a signal, the battery can drain much more quickly, so this could be a reason your battery drained. Have you tried a soft reset of the device? The steps are below.

Remove battery when the phone is powered on

Wait 30-60 seconds

Re-attach and power on

Monitor the device

In many cases, the soft reset allows your device to re-register with the network and locate the signal. It is a good idea to power the device off once every day or two for the registration. There is no need to leave it powered off for a significant amount of time, just a quick power cycle allows this re-registration.

If you have completed a soft reset of the device and still get no signal in any area, there may be an issue with the internal antenna or the device itself.

Please let us know if your issue has been resolved since you posted your comments. Thank you.
