Battery indicator question--randomly going to 5% after just being charged?

I have the Motorola Droid and I've noticed a few times where the battery indicator will just drop to 5% for no reason--as in I'll look at it and it's at maybe 70% and it will randomly just drop to 5%. The red light indicating low battery will come on and everything. However, the battery never actually dies, it just seems to think it's battery is low. If I restart it, it will show the correct battery level. It's happened maybe 3 times since I got it in late November, so it's not a huge deal, just a little annoying.

This happened for anyone else?

I've had this happen to me as well, just today in fact. i'm not sure what is the problem is. The exact same thing happens to me too, and when I restart it, it will resume at it's correct battery level. I've always thought this to be a little odd the few times its happened, but apparently we are not the only ones.

happened this weekend while on charger, unhooked it, reconnected to charger and read 100%. thought perhaps I had connected it completely and had let it run down.
