Battery or Phone? Battery Life Question

So I was getting about 5  to 6 hours on my standard battery. I would put it on the charger after hitting 5 percent and let it charge overnight and take it off the charger at 9:15, I know this accuratley because this is when I leave for work. I would get to work where I dont use my phoneand when I leave my phone would be 70%. I used it for nothing.

The biggest users were Idle and Standby. Then the smaller ones where Display, Android OS, and Android System.
Where my bettery is going who knows; here are my statistics

Wifi = off
Locaton = off
CMDA/LTE = ON
Data Saver = Off
-----Data Delivery
Background data = ON
Data Roaming = off
Data Enabled = On
-----Display
Brightness at lowest
Auto Rotate Screen = On
Animation = On
Screen Timeout = 30 Seconds
Roaming Banner = On
In Pocket Detection = On
-----Location & Security Settings
Google Location Services = On
Standalone GPS = off
VZW Location = ON
Share Picture Location = Off
-----Privacy Settings
Back Up My Data = ON
Automatic Restore = On

My Battery Is on Maximum Battery Saver.

So I got my extended battery yesterday and it was almost dead, stuck it on the battery charger that came extra with the costco deal and let it charge all the way up and then took it off. Then this morning I stuck the battery in turned it on and walked out my fron door. I used it for about 9 minutes for music and about 8 for internet. Its down to 40% from 100% this morning.

Not sure what is going on but I use my phone constantly in 4G areas with a healthy combination of phone, text, email, sms/mms,games, etc.  With one exception where I was on the phone for over an hour straight I have never run low on my standard battery.  I had bought the dock charger accessory that comes with an extra stock battery and I have only had to use it that one time.  I do not enable push notifications for productivity reasons and I do not use task killers because I feel they use more battery than the phone does.

I do not stream unless I am on wifi and then I keep it on a charge to prevent premature battery drain.  Same if I use GPS or Vlingo InCar. To me, this phone battery far exceeds my Droid 1 or Droid X phones or my iPhone batteries.

Not sure I'm understanding this. You say you get about 6 hours of battery life, but yet you say when you leave work you're at 70%. If I assume you work an 8 hour day and then commute both ways, you have at least 8-10 hours and still have 70% left.

What am I missing here?

NuclearFenix, thanks for your inquiry. I understand the need to have a reliable phone and battery. Thank you for the details of all the settings on your device. I have to say I agree with vidguy7 here. You said the phone only lasts about 5 to 6 hours with a standard battery but by the end of your work day it is down to 70%. Do you work a full 8 hour shift, if so, that sounds like it would be about normal usage. Keep in mind that when background data is on, applications may be updating or running in the background. If your email is set to check for email every 15 -30 minutes, then the phone is connecting to the internet every 15-30 minutes just to look for email even if there is none. If you have any task killers or antivirus programs those are also constantly running. I would suggest also checking to see what applications are running in the background.

Also, someone else mentioned turning off LTE. I would only recommend turning this off if you are not in an LTE area or only travel to one occasionally. With your extended battery, it seems that after about 13 hours, you were at about 40% battery life. I understand that you want to get much more battery life, but I don't really see an issue with either the phone or the battery. Again, by making some minor changes you may be able to get a few more hours battery life, but it will be expected that you need to charge your phone about once per day. Here are some additional battery saving tips (you may need to scroll down to select the Bionic).

I would use the built in phone task killer instead of others too.
