Is it just my imagination or did GB actually help in preserving battery power? Since I've downloaded it, my battery appears to last a lot longer between charges.

Thanks for all of the feedback and suggestions!

 

I am sure we all want to get the most out of our battery, especially considering the amount of things we like to do on our Androids.  I would like to make a suggestion, that I believe will greatly improve the battery life on your Droid X and has worked for another customer of mine...

 

I would perform a hard reset of the device (make sure you backup all information on your device), reload all data and you should experience a much better battery life on your Droid.

 

I have included direct step-by-step instructions for the hard reset in this link.

Since I updated to GB I drop to 90% battery in 10 minutes. Put it on the table for 3 hours and it is dead. Turn off background data and it lasts longer. When battery is draining the upload and download arrows are solid on and turn from white to blue. Battery gets hot. Any ideas?

as has been said before, it depends how many apps you have that keep updating themselves even though you're not using them.

My battery life has improved as well... I'm on 7 hrs 27 min usage with 90% charge. :smileyhappy:

Not me, my battery is worse. The phone is generally warmer and I'd say I'm getting about 20% less battery life.

Before GB, my phone would typically be around 60% by the end of a workday, on a "typical" day. Now, it is commonly in the 40% area

Same apps. No new apps installed. I'm not starting up an anti-GB bandwagon, but what other conclusion is there?

I read the other thread that revisited the app killer debate around battery life. I didn't need one before GB.

the app killer has it's own drawbacks, part of why i don't use one.

to kill after use each time has to take it's toll on the batt.

I think I will shut up. I was not impressed with the soak and won't participate in another one. My attitude and opinions about GB are biased by the fact that, unlike the majority of you kind fellow Xer's, I didn't want it.

Not whining, mind you. Disappointed, discouraged and burnt out.

Off to the Camaro SS forums..........
