Hello,
My Env2 has seen better days and I saw that Best Buy Mobile was having a pretty good pre-order deal on the Droid X. So I went today and it was a pretty confusing experience. I just have two questions to confirm.
1. When the sales rep went to look into the account I gave him my name, carrier, phone number, and the last 4 digits of my SSN (this is what every Verizon store asks me). Then he asked me for my account password. I never remember ever setting up an "Account Password" so he left it blank and it gave him an error saying the account was password protected. Does anyone know where or how I can set/reset the account password?
2. My actual upgrade is not due until August 13th. I really want to get a new phone because its a pain to use the Env2. I asked an official Verizon store about this and they said they charge a $20 upgrade fee but they do not know about other stores. I asked the Best Buy Mobile rep and he said I have to call Verizon and tell them I'm upgrading the phone early. I just don't want to call Verizon and demand that they allow my to upgrade my phone, so does anyone know if there is a proper way to do this?
I know this is a Verizon forum but I was just wondering if anyone can give me any type of advice.
Thank You,
Kenneth P.

HI. I understand that you have questions regarding your account and upgrade status and I will be happy to help you from here. The "Account Password" is a security code on your account. It can be up to five characters, letters, numbers, or a combination of both. The "Account Password" can be reset by the account owner by calling in or going to the store with a picture id.
In order to get the Droid X at a discount price, you would need to wait until your upgrade date. If you order before then, it will not include any discounts. Are you having any issues with your current phone now?
Waiting on your reply ![]()
Thanks!

Thanks for telling me how to reset the account password. I'll call and tell you how it goes.
The reason why I want to upgrade now is because my Env2 will not hold a charge very long and it is totally unreliable and I need to have a phone with me 24/7. When I went to an Official Verizon store they wanted to charge me $50 for a new battery and thats a steep price considering my upgrade is August 13th.
Thanks for your reply,
Kenneth

this isnt entirely true verizon is supposed to allow anyone has an upgrade through 2010 to upgrade this does not apply to people doing an annual upgrade on a 2 year contract but it is your 18month upgrade you should have no problems upgrading now
