Bionic and Laptop plugged in do nothing! Help

I want to plug in my Bionic to my laptop and upload my pictures. I bought this phone about a month ago. I plugged the phone into my computer and nothing happened. I went into my computer to see if it was listed on the usb ports as plugged in an it showed nothing. I went to auto play in my computer and it says no devices are plugged in. I have looked through the phone to see what I could do to get it to notice it was plugged into the laptop and did not see any help. I just want to be able to plug it up and upload them. Every phone I have ever had it was just that simple until this phone. Please help! I know there has to be a way to get the computer and the Bionic to know when I plug it in. THANKS
