To be honest I am believing the early upgrade plan in effect now is to move the none 4g devices because they are not seeing the demand for the none 4g devices, this seems normal to me, its kind of like the promos to buy one get one free deals to move devices that wasn't moving..

Since you still have 9 months I am not surprised they are not offing the new devices but I am not getting the early cancellation part.

Apparently, you don't know what a contract is.  When you got you current phone, you contractually agreed to keep it for two years.  VZW is at least willing to let you upgrade four months early.  Bite the bullet and wait, or pay full price--your choice.

If you are still under your current two year contract, then you need to purchase the DROID Bionic at full retail price or add additional line to your account.

You can upgrade at a discount price once you have reached the twentieth month of your two year contract.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I am in the same boat. I would love a Bionic but am not able to get one yet due to my contract and not having my phone long enough. My only option is to add a 2nd line. I am fine wtih the terms and understand Verizons position. It wouldn't be a problem if the Bionic wasn't such a cool phone.  :smileyhappy:

Not to take anything away from the Bionic, but I suggest you read the user reviews of the phone.  There are many complaints about the phone, many of which are similar.  I'd planned to get the Bionic until I read the reviews.  I am very disappointed the VZW isn't going to have the Samsung Galaxy S 2.  It is an awesome phone.  I am considering switching from VZW just because of this phone.

bad reviews?  Verizon's site has over 600+ reviews and has 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Got good reviews from CNET (4/5) , Engadget.

Personally have it myself and don't have problems with it.

And in return for getting the"latest and greatest in exchange for somewhat old ones at the lowest possible price without termination fees", you agreed to the service term without upgrading at a discounted price until you become eligible again in 20 months from the date of renewal. Now it seems you do not want to live up to your end of the deal. Consider the full retail price of the phone you want as just the return of the discount you got on the last phone you wanted. Afterall, if you do not want to live up to your promise, you shouldn't have gotten the discount in the first place and therefore shouldn't feel bad if you have to return it.

....Come on ...you want us to wait for that long which you seem to have agreed to at the time. Didn't seem so bad when you were getting the discount on your last phone.

.......looking for solutions here... There is a solution, you can upgrade at any time for full retail price of the phone you want.

jrh4054, you read my mind. Way too many issues.

You think there will be a list of issues posted a couple of weeks after the golden "5" that comes out tomorrow? Yes, they've had their share of problems, but the rush to get the latest and greatest phones out causes this with Android.

Apple spends over a year concentrating on one phone, while Moto churns out dozens and quality suffers.

Not changing this to another IOS vs. Android thread.
