Black Screen

Is anyone having the problem with the screen, it turns black when making a call. When I go to use the keyboard to enter, just say an extension, the screen is still black or turns black within seconds.    Help!! I took the 1st phone back for a replacement and have still the same issue with the new one. I still have 14 days. I appreciate any input, Thanks.

The screen is controlled by the proximity sensor while on a call which is why it should go off when you place it close to your head and come on when you take it away.  It should look like a little circle near the top of the screen so make sure you hand or something else isn't obscructing it.

Also, if you are using a BT headset it will go off pretty fast.  You'll have to press the power button on the right side to re-activate the screen.  I believe this is done to save battery.

THere is an issue wit hthat and some phones with Froyo when auto rotation and the sensor is used in conjunction. Try settign manual brightness and turnign the auto rotation off.

IT will do that to me at times and is annoying. Did it on another droid as well.
