Blue Tooth issue

I've searched all the other droid forums and this seems to be a recurring problem.
When I connect my DX to my a2dp headset everything works properly but when I receive a call it doesn't ring through my headset. If I am listening to music the music will stop but that's because the phone has stopped the music for an incoming call.
I have tried 3 other phones with my headset and they all work fine. Only the X is having this problem. I've reset the phone, re-paired the set several times, adjust ed audio levels on the phone, and numerous other suggestions with no luck.
Other people are having this problem so I know there isn't a quick fix for this other than a software patch from motorola.
What I need to know is if there is a proposed fix for this issue because if there isn't I will bring the phone back for a refund since I've only had it for less than a month. I have to have bluetooth and If I can receive calls the phone is essentially useless.

I was wondering this very thing. (actually, I've been wondereing about this since last July!)
I have the Jawbone Icon and while it doesn't make my phone useless (sorry, I ain't that bad off...), it would really be nice to hear the phone ringing or a text notification in the headset.
I was think that it might be the headset and looking into the Plantronics Pro model which is supposed to be a really good unit.
If it is the phone, then the OP might as well head on back for that refund, because the X is about to be replaced by the X2 in the next few months (maybe even weeks).

I can't speak to your headset. I can tell you that I use S9-HD Bluetooth music heaphones. They DO "ring" and the music stops when a call comes in.
Ironically, they DO NOT say "Droid" (my email and text audible notification) whenever an email or text comes in. The music pauses and the phone still plays the notification, but it doesn't come through the headphones.
Phone call-wise, they work fine, including answering and hanging up with buttons on earpiece. I have even used them for Voice Command calls.
Good luck finding a headset that meets your needs, or perhaps another phone.

I've yet to reach a competant motorola rep that can even acknowledge the issue. They go as far as telling you to do a factory reset and I've done that. Im not doing it again since my schedule does not allow me to spend hours setting the phone back up.
I also went through the issue with the screen lock blocking bt commands but figured out that using the cardock mode prevents that from happening.
For such an advanced phone they seem to have forgotten its a phone and basic calling features should work well.
If anyone knows a way to contact motorola without reaching some guy in india named Bob let me know.

I'm not following. My Bluetooth headphones DO RING when I get a phone call. Is it a "simulated ring"? Yes. I wouldn't expect my Tom Petty ringtone to play through my headphones when I get a phone call as that could be confusing if I happened to be listening to Tom Petty at the time. It is a "phone ringing sound", though.
Not sure why you are saying the Droid X doesn't. Mine does with my headphones. I know nothing about yours, or whether they are a Moto product. Mine are a Moto product. Perhaps that would shed a light on this being a compatibility issue and not a Droid X software issue.
But, it sounds like you already have a predisposition to dislike your Droid X, if you are considering returning it and calling it defective because you can't hear phone calls ring through your headphones.
Good luck.

It's no secret how I feel about my X, so that's a done deal here...
I'm trying to think back (insert favorite old guy's memory joke here) a bit, but I remember having a older Plantronics headset a couple of years ago. I just don't remember WHAT phone I had, I think it was my Eris. It really DID play all of my Tower of Power ringtones, as well as ALL ringtones, through the headset, as well as the "Message Alert" tones, too. But the headset had terrible noice rejection, so I went with one of the Jawbones. The Jawbone Prime does play a funny little tone not at all related to the phone. And NO notifications. And this latest one, the Jawbone Icon, just make a single quick little noise, almost like a burp...and again, no notifications.
Good point about the Moto products. Maybe I can get my geekbuddies at the Verizon store to let me play with a few different BT headsets tomorrow, they are really pretty good about things like that (I speak their language, )). I'm going by there tomorrow evening, I'llsee what I can find out and report back...
Till then, my X ain't goin' nowhere...

Bt headsets have their own ring tones. The phones just tell the bt a call is coming in and then the phone generates its own ringtone.
Im a telecomunications specialist for the last 21 years so I'm familiar with how to troubleshoot electronics.
My predisposition to blame the dx is because I took the time to trouble shoot down. When I saw others having the same problem it confirmed my findings.
I also persued this with my bt manufacter first so I didn't assume it was the dx.
My goal is to find a rep who's goal is not to defend the droid but actually fix the problem.

If you was hoping to have a VZW rep respond on this forum, you will wait a long time. This is a peer to peer forum. To contact Verizon directly, you should use the blue "Contact Us" link at the top of the webpage.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I am by NO MEANS a "rep". I offered my experience. That didn't help you. Sorry. I have nothing else to offer.
