Bluetooth Won't Pair

How on earth do I pair my bluetooth. Nothing I have tried works. And now to make things worth my phone isnt charging! So unhappy with this phone...

To pair Bluetooth-
Menu,settings...
Make sure Bluetooth is checked.
On your headset power it off, then turn it back on holding the power button until the light alternates between red and blue.
In Bluetooth settings, scan for device.
When it finds your headset, tap pair and then connect.

Thanks to the community for responding. I can see how the Bluetooth and charging problems can be very upsetting. The steps for Bluetooth paring provided by jmancil1972 are correct. In regards to your charging issue, how long has this been happening? Have you tried a different charger? Have you tried plugging it in to your computer? Does it charge on the computer? Please answer these questions so I can further assist in trouble shooting. I hope this helps. Thanks.
