Like some others here and on other boards, I cannot get my new HTC DINC2 to load the phone book to my 06 BMW. It connects via Bluetooth just fine, then sits with a perpetual "loading phonebook" message. Very frustrating! I have searched all kinds of forums, etc and have not found a solution. I am ready to return the phone and go another direction. Does anyone have a solution? I expected more from HTC and Verizon. (Note that my previous phone was an HTC Droid Eris - synced and loaded the contacts with no problem)

This has been covered in several threads, the new devices use newer bluetooth stacks that has improved security protocols and the older head units do not support the updated drivers, the reason the older devices work is because they had supported bluetooth drivers in the headunit to communicate....
The issue isn't the device, its the radio and the older bluetooth hardware so unless the developers release a reverse compatible supported bluetooth or the radio firmware can be updated I do not see this working for you on many of the newer smartphones..

The issue is the new Andriod ICS upgrade. My RAZR I bought in March 2021 connected fine to my 2008 BMW with contact list accessible before the upgrade...now it can't see the contact list. Verizon should fix this problem NOW.
Why should I have to upgrade my car's firmware at my expense?
{cuss words...}
