Bluetooth voice dial doesn't work when phone is locked

Does anyone else have this problem? I have a Moto T505 paired with my X and bluetooth voice dial works fine when the phone is unlocked, but once the phone locks, voice dial will not work anymore. This makes it real difficult while driving... having to unlock the phone each time to make a call... Is this the expected behavior or is this a problem with the X?

When Android 2.2 is rolled out, the problem will be solved.

However

I am running Android 2.1 update 1 on my X, and it does voice dialing when the phone is locked...

I have a Droid X with a Plantronics Discovery 975. I can not make calls using voice dial through the Bluetooth headset when the phone is locked. System Version: 1.13.604.MB810 Firmware Version: 2.1-update1

I have the same problem. I just noticed it tonight upon my first use of my Bluetooth headset. I can't dial when the phone is locked. This is a real bummer. I hope Android 2.2 fixes this issue else I have a real problem with the phone.

Oh. come on, guys.

Having to unlock the phone to voice-dial is no worse than adjusting the channel and/or volume on your car radio.

I have literally been in a vehicle with the driver eating a sandwich, yet complaining about not being able to voice-dial on his phone. Hopefully, I won't have to ride with that person again.  THAT'S special!

Not buying it, try again.

(EDIT) Sitting here just now, I just successfully made several calls to an automated number using the bluetooth voice-dialing feature WITH THE PHONE LOCKED.  Version  2.1 update 1. You are doing something wrong. I can post a vido clip later, if you don't believe me.)
