Can someone please give me a few places to look to see what is draning my battery. I bought the phone new yestersday. Charged it about 5 times since yesterday. I have the brightness turned down, screen shuts down after a minute. Oh and the back of the phone is also hot.
Thanks

Check to see what is using your battery (Menu - Settings - About Phone - Battery - Battery Use). Install some sort of Task Killer and try killing tasks that are draining your battery
I had the same thing happen to me today. I've had the phone for over a month without any problems until today. When I checked the battery usage the most power was being used by something that looks like PVMtpServiceStart ... If you see that on ur running programs then that is your problem. My solution was just to turn the phone off and turn it back on, but that might not work for you. If you search for that online you will see a bunch of threads on various forums.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Something is running if the back is hot. I had a live weather app that I discovered was running constantly and draining the battery. Once removed the problem went away. Some push emails like Yahoo Mail will drain the battery too as they run constantly.
