Buggy Screen

My phone' s touch screen is on the fritz. It will sift through menus on its own and click in spots I didn't click in. It started doing it after using my brother's 3rd party car charger. I read this is a common occurence. As far as Asurion's online claim system tells me I am not covered. Is my only option to buy a new phone?

Why did it say you wasn't covered?

If you have insurance you should be able to have it replaced (Probably at the deductible price)....  If you are not covered under the insurance you will have to buy a new device but I think you should be covered..

Have you tried hard resetting device and see if it helped any...

Perform a hard reset on your Verizon Droid 2 if you wish to wipe all the data from the device.

  From device startup

1. Turn the Droid 2 off. If it’s frozen and you cannot turn it off, pull and replace the battery.

2. Open the keyboardand press the X key while pressing Power. The device will power on. Keep holding the X button down until a white triangle with yellow exclamation mark appears.

3. Press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons simultaneously to bring up the menu. (You may have to try this a few times before it works)

4. Select the Wipe data factory reset option. Use the Power key to confirm it.

5. Tap wipe data/factory reset then tap OK.

6. Select Yes – delete all user data.

7. Highlight reboot system now is highlighted then tap OK.

KewlMunky, thank you for your inquiry. Did you try the factory reset like Wildman suggested? Also, when did you get your Droid 2? As long as there is no physical or liquid damage to the device, and it is within 1 year of purchase, you would be covered under warranty.
