Bump in the night

Last night I went to bed with a full charge in my X2, and woke this morning to a dead phone.

It would not power on at all.

I plugged it into the charger and nothing no response.

Next I pulled the battery, waited 30 secs, and put the battery back in.

Presto, powered up with a full battery.

I guess my question is whether this deserves a trip to my friendly neighborhood Verizon shop or,

is this a random occurrence that I should just chalk up to Murphy.

I will be doing a factory reset when 2.3.3 comes my way.

I would see if this repeats itself another time or two before you take it in for examination. If it does happen again, it would be good (but probably impractical, I know) to take it in while it's dead, show it to the CSR, then pull and re-insert the battery while the CSR is watching. Impractical, yes, but it will make your case more plausible rather than taking in your seemingly working phone and saying it had a problem, but it's fine now.

I have not seen this problem with my X2. And a few other niggles it had have cleared up since, errr, late last week...:smileyhappy:)

Good luck, let us know how it goes,

Hi Ibm360,

Thank you to GeriO for your posting. I agree that you should not yet take the phone to a store location to have it looked at. This is especially true since you will not be able to show the store agent the issue and re-produce it.

I have checked my references and I am not showing that what you describe is a known issue with the Droid X2. So, it may be just a one-time thing. It is a good idea to power the phone off once a day or two, in order for the phone to keep a good connection with the network, it refreshes the registration in the network. You may find that a quick power cycle once a day or two may eliminate the issue you are having.

Thank you for your posting, Ibm360, and have a good day!
