Business Email - A.K.A Not GMAIL!

Looking for help with the Droid's total lack of email processing capability.  Verizon's had VersaMail for Palm's for over 5 years and yet the Droid doesn't have any of these features.

Receive over 100+ emails/day and need to be able to not have to refresh the Inbox to see new messages; delete messages by age and not have to select each; Need email signature; filtering would be nice; work out the send through Time Warner RR is required.

I'm sure there are many more, but I guess looking for BB email capabilities on the Droid.  Google & Verizon have really missed the boat for a large majority of small business owners looking for the next generation.

Also need to be able to synch Outlook contacts, calendars, & specially TASK via USB and do not want to post this on a Google Web or anyother web.... privacy and security always an issue..  Palm Hotsync has done this for years...

So the Droid is very cool... but not for Business, especially small business...

Reviewed the December 11th request from Verizon to Motorola for updates and unfortunately it doesn't appear that these email issues are included or realized.

Hopefully Verizon/Google are reviewing these forums to incorporate some additional fixes in their OTA update -

I am loving the open platform Droid.  I especially enjoy its speed and capabilities.  However, the 'non-gmail' email app needs improvement.  I understand that this phone is being marketed more towards consumers and not the business world (like BB).  Regardless, the email app should still have the basic functions.  I work for a small consulting firm which doesn't even use Exchange, so I could care less about the active sync / exchange issues that are surfacing.  The google calendar sync to my outlook is more than enough for me to manage my appts and schedule.  There are 3 or 4 things that I would like to see (and I believe would be rather simple add-ons to the software).  #1 (probably the most important to me) Forward with attachments option.  You can currently forward a message, but there is no option to do so with the attachment.  The only way around this is to download the file(s) to the temp folder on your SD card and then forward the message and add attachments.  This becomes a real pain when you have multiple files to attach/download.  #2 (Verizon Tech tells me they are aware of this and will be fixed with the OTA update) A percentage of the PDFs sent to my 'non-gmail' email app will not open.  The phone says ‘Fetching attachment’ and is shortly followed by ‘Unable to display attachment.’ Meanwhile, if I forward the same email to my gmail account from my computer, I can preview the PDF there. Or if I rename the file on my computer and send it back to my corporate account, I can then preview. Some kind of interface issue.  This is particularly annoying as I spend half my time on the road.  #3 No 'non-gmail' email SEARCH function.  Something I used a great deal on my BB was the ability to search my email messages for specific content.  With Google's search abilities, this could surely be added to this app. (right?)  #4  Select/Copy/Cut/Paste function.  It seems that you can only select text in the browser (correct me if I'm wrong).  Another thing I'll do quite often is grab text from certain emails and paste them elsewhere.  One of the Storm's previous updates enables multi-touch to use two tabs where you could drag them to encompass the text you were interested in.  I know Android is multi-touch capable.  I don't particularly care if it is incorporated here, but I would like to see the select/copy/cut/paste function one way or another.

Again, I'm not sure how far this forum will go in Verizon's/Google's eyes, but hopefully some impact is made.  Please help.
