Since the GB 2.3.3 update I have had one annoying issue I don't know how to correct.
Go into a text message using the default text messaging program.
Press the lower left key (Whatever it is called) and select Call.
When you do so it shows the persons phone numbers (Pulled from the contacts) like normal but what's happening is it lists every number as (Other). For instance one person may have two numbers listed in their contacts, one for Mobile and one for Home but when you pull up that person's numbers to call from within the text messenger app it lists all those numbers as (Other) so you don't know which to dial.
I have tried clearing the text messaging app cache and rebooting.
Ideas?

Wildman,
What you sugegsted does work and I appreciate it as an alternative.
As for the actual problem though it does still exist. i did figure out one more clue as to what is wrong with this too. if you go into the contacts and edit and save any contact in the phone book, the problem fixes itself, until the next reboot of the phone. Sort of like the phone book and the text messaging app are not 100% synced correctly.

Another suggestion, if you're not opposed to it, would be to try a 3rd party app like Handcent. There's a Phone button in each texting thread that just takes one tap to call the person.
