Is any one having issues with the camera on the incredible freezing so you have to kill the camera app in order to resolve? Is any one else having this problem? My wife and I both have the incredible and are both having this issue. Is there any known fixes?

i haven't had any issues like that. you could try to use one of the camera apps, instead of the built in program. some of them even have more features than the stock camera program.

I have the same issue. I have tried all combinations of phone storage / SD-Card, auto flicker versus 50Hz or 60Hz, flash and no flash, etc. I was on vacation this past week and shot a few hundred pictures with the Incredible. The only way I was able to reduce it was to change the picture resolution to 5MP. The highest setting (the default) is 8MP. After changing to 5MP the occurrence of the lockups was a fraction of what it was for 8MP. Still unacceptable but far less.
Please give that a try and let us know. If you look on the HTC forums you will see many people reporting this very same issue. But I have not seen anyone mention that shooting at 5MP reduces the lockups. I hope this will reduce it for everyone and that could hold us until 2.2 is ready for the Incredible (by December is the word on that). As widespread as this camera lockup problem is the 2.2 update should address it.

My camera was freezing, but now after I take the picture it immediately dumps me back to my Home Screen and the picture is lost. I also had the same thing happen while shooting video. I have seen this issue all over the forums/boards, but have yet to see anything that definitively says it will be addressed in the upcoming OTA. Here is to hoping that it does. It is really my only complaint with the device, but for that much money I would expect the camera to work properly...

I finally found out what is going on after harassing the poor tech rep at the Verizon store and asking him to search the Verizon technician's database for me. (Their "secret" database - ooooh!).
Bottome line: HTC/Droid KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND IT IS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM that will be fixed in the next update. However, they refuse to give any prediction as to when that update will be available.
Since my "incredible" is new and this issue has been known about for quite some time, I was knowingly sent a defective product with no notice, or warning, or fix. They don't even have a date as to when the fix will be ready - just that it will be some day in the fall. Maybe. Probably. But not for sure.
They should have, at the very least, sent out a tech bulletin to the stores so the techs & sales people aren't blindsided by customers and so the customers can get answers. (What a concept!) I would have been forgiving if they had simply said "there is a known issue with the camera and it will be fixed in X month" - when I bought it. But instead they've opted to have thousands of customers wandering around cyberspace trying to find out why their products don't work properly.
So, in the mean time, I'm paying for a phone that does not work as advertised.
Suggestion: EVERYONE with this problem call Verizon and start demanding they do something about it. (That is, if you freakin' phone works )
