Can I back up my contacts to my SD card?

Is it possible to backup my contacts to my SD card?

Long story short: the touch screen on my Droid has stopped functioning, so while the phone still works, I have no way to unlock the screen and actually use it. I have a replacement on the way, but am told without access to the screen (i.e. unlocking the screen), I am completely out of luck in retrieving my contacts. By chance, I discovered that when the alarm goes off (which I already have pre-set for every day), when I dismiss or snooze it it actually unlocks the screen and I can navigate around my phone with the keyboard only. Kind of strange that the alarm is the one thing that allows me to get into my phone, but whatever. SO, now that I can get into my contacts, after the alarm goes off, I want to try and export them or back them up somehow.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Yes because you can open phone dialer / all contacts and select menu and there is a option to export contacts to card..

Thanks for the suggestion Wildman!

jmayo110 it is unfortunate you are having the issues with your screen, but glad we were able to send you a replacement.

I would like to ask if you had your Google/GMail account or a Backup Assistant account syncing to your phone?  If so, your contacts may have synced to one of those accounts.  From a computer log into your GMail account and select "Contacts" to see if they were backed up there.  Otherwise, if you had Backup Assistant on your DROID, log into your account at www.verizonwireless.com and then under "My Verizon/My Device" click on Backup Assistant to see your contacts.  When you activate your replacement, all you will need to do is sync whichever service has your contacts backed up.

I trust I have addressed your concerns with retaining your device contacts.
