Can Motorola Droid be used for data only?

The Motorola Droid is fairly heavy to be used as a phone. Would it be possible to un-configure the phone and use it for data only? If it works, I could re-configure the previous phone for voice.

I don't mind carrying a small phone for phone service and the Droid for data.

Unfortunately, the data only plans are now for business customers only... :smileysad:

I am keeping the current voice/data plan. But I would use 2 devices, instead of only the Droid. This is because using the Motorola Droid for voice is not as easy as a regular cell phone.
