Can You download instant messenging apps to the Motorola Droid

I'm current an LG Voyager user who contract is due to renewal. I see that in the write-up it doesn't mention that it is IM (like AIM, or Yahoo Messenger) capable. I use Yahoo quite a bit and I wanted to know if the Yahoo messenger app can be downloaded for use with the Motorola Droid.

yes....AND, ironically, yahoo just put out an official app for messenger last night. and it's getting much better reviews than the app i had found. Yahoo! Messenger for Android.......jus released. and the comments are mostly positve.

yes, although the app i came across got poor reviews. there may be a better one though??? but it is definitely an option.
