Thanks..this works and means I don't have to get an app. 
Hey there, I have recently looked at the Droid X and Droid 2 for a new phone, though when both phones received picture messages I was unable to save the images to the phone. Can anyone help me by showing me how to save the photos or is it just not possible, thank you for your time.

ps: also with sounds, I was not able to save sounds as well for ringtones.
With the droid 2, either with mms or email you press and hold the attachment and a menu pops up.
