Can not get gingerbread update

So Why can't I get the Gingerbread update for the droid X. When I check for software updates from the phone it indicated that check for update is not available try again later. When I call Verizon Tech support all I get is we will push the update out to you when we are good and ready, just wait! There does not appear to be anything I can do to get the update. This is rather frustrating.

If your phone is rooted or you have removed any of the preinstalled apps on the phone, you will not be able to update.

There are many other threads on this with solutions, please do a search and you will find your answer. There is a thread about 10 posts down from yours with the answer in it.

If you read all the posts complaining about problems from GB, you might not want it
