Can only edit contact through Call Log

It seems I used to be able to touch Contacts, then touch a specific contact, then press the Menu to view/edit a contact - I can't get that to work any more. It just gives an error buzz when I press Menu. The only way I've found to view/edit is to go in through the Call Log. Anybody got a suggestion?

I just tried this and it works.

Go to contacts>
Select contact>
Long press>
Scroll down and select edit contact.

Yes, this works - However, the long press needs to be on the Name, not on the picture. (I'm a rookie at this!) I had tried the long press before but was pressing the pic. Thanks so much!
