Hello All -
I got my Incredible when they first came out. Shortly after I received the 2.2 Froyo update, I
{edit for TOS violation}
the phone using the process provided by Unrevoked. The biggest reason was to get rid of the annoying advertisements. The kernel was never modified. After some time, it started to act eratically so I had my friend unroot it. He followed a Youtube vid that gave step by step instructions. After he finished, I used the Factory Data Reset function and wipind the sd card and phone storage.
Now everthing is reloaded, but I don't get a Froyo update notification from Verizon and when I check for system updates it says that none are available. It's been 6 weeks and nothing... I've even tried 'checkin' but that just gives me notices of app updates, not the system. Is there any way to force a Froyo update?

When you did the master reset, the Froyo update is now part of the initial update process.
If you click on MENU>SETTINGS>ABOUT PHONE>SOFTWARE INFO What is the Android Version???

You may can find a solution for this but i do not see you getting it from Verizon or any users here because the process you used to edit your device voids warrenty and also is in breach of TOS..

Ya know, Wildman - It's truly a shame that you sit so high and proper to help someone trying to fix a problem. Yes, I violated the TOS and I'm attempting to undo that. I will use other blogs to find assistance with my issue. Once my DINC is is proper working order and all violations have been repaired, will furure help then be rendered in the event of a problem?? Or am I permantly branded?
